Pedigrees are built by gathering and recording background history on your dog which may take a bit of effort on your part. Contacting breeders, registries and whomever may have information about your dog is sometimes necessary.  Names, registration numbers, colors, sizes and photos of your dogs ancestors should be obtained whenever possible. Or any other important facts about your dog such as temperament, traits and characteristics. Good Pedigrees are essential in helping to build a successful breeding program. Knowing more about your dog's lines and the traits that they carry help  to achieve the desired results. You can avoid introducing negative traits and often cut down the amount of time it takes to produce what you want.
